A Fire and Safety Awareness Program was conducted on 30th June 2026 at Kamalam Ramasamy College of Pharmacy to create awareness among students about fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and safe practices during fire incidents.
The program was graced by Leading Fireman, Kattumannarkoil Fire Station, as the Chief Guest. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. M. Jeevitha, Principal, followed by an introduction to the importance of fire safety in educational institutions and workplaces.
The Chief Guest explained the common causes of fire accidents, different classes of fire, methods of fire prevention, and the proper use of various fire extinguishers. A live demonstration was conducted on operating a fire extinguisher using the PASS technique: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep. Participants also learned about emergency evacuation procedures and basic first aid measures during fire emergencies.
All students and faculty members attended the program and actively participated in the demonstration and interactive question-and-answer session.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. C. Shamitha, Lecturer, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, the organizers, and all the participants for making the event a success. The program significantly enhanced awareness of fire safety and encouraged everyone to be prepared to respond effectively during emergencies.
